Iris, my 4 year old son loves watching these videos and we were really excited to see that you posted "dragon."  We just tried writing the standard style that you demonstrated.  The running style and the dancing style were a bit too much for us to handle though!   Thanks for posting these and keep them coming.  It's great to see how the characters are written with 毛笔。

You are very welcome, Sikora.  I am so glad that I also have a special little audience. Please say hello to him for me.  :)

I just posted another video about reading a kid's book in Chinese on my Youtube Channel. I bet your little boy will love that too.

Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tKTZCkmHtI

I will post it here soon.

Japanese vs. Chinese characters

Is there anyone out there who is familiar with Japanese characters and has also learned simplified Chinese? I am wondering whether it would be helpful or confusing to try to add characters to my study sessions. My goal is conversational Chinese,…See More

"Hi Debbie, Thanks for the suggestions. I've looked at yoyochinese and will think about doing the full course….right now I feel like I'm pretty scattered in my learning patterns.  How long have you studied Chinese for?"

"Hi Lolly! I spent quite a long time looking at stuff on the internet before I went with something. I find yoyochinese very good indeed ~ just what you want for conversation. To get the full course, you do need to pay, but it is reasonable and you…"
