If you are not speaking directly to the person whom you would like to give credit to, you can say, "so and so 功不可没。“  Literally, it mean so and so's contribution can be submerged (hidden).

To give someone a credit for doing something, you may say "你做得非常好!" [nǐ zuò de fēi cháng hǎo]  and it will give you a similar meaning of "you did an excellent job."

Hope it helps!
