          #3     情况 ( circumstances ) was not in the Enlish translation.   In English " report back to HQ" and " report the circumstances back to HQ" implicitly imply 2 different situations.  Since you might only need to report to HQ as a routine but reporting back to HQ about "something" is probably not routine at all.  But maybe I am trying to translate word for word again and really should not be complicating the sentence.

Thank you so much, it's very helpful! Before your explanation, I didn't know the difference between "report back" and "report to". I was trying to say that someone worked in the subcompany and he needed to report to HQ everyday. Can I change my sentence like" We've got to report to the head office"?

 

I'm so glad that you helped and you are welcomed to correct my sentences both Chinese and English. I'm learning English now, so there must be something wrong in my sentences, if someone helps correct them, then the mistakes wouldn't mess others. :)
