Hands down the Best Site for streaming music in China - QQ Music translated screenshots

streaming music chinaI wanted to share a site for streaming music in China that a Chinese coworker tipped me off to that I have been using pretty much every day since. The site is QQ music and you can access it here:

If you are in China, using Chrome and a PC, then you will probably agree that this is the best free streaming music site, probably on the entire internet.

I can't vouch for how smooth the streaming is outside of China but inside it is seamless and the music videos are really high quality.

The site has a huge catalog of music to choose from, obviously favoring Chinese music but a ton of Western & world music as well.  See the screenshots below - there's even like a billboard top 100 playlist option you can use. I usually just search by artist & add to playlist that way.

The site is all in Chinese but thanks to Gen's help, we've got some translated screenshots below to help you learn the basic functionality.  You can also use Chrome's Google translate option to make it easier.

Just click a screenshot to enlarge & see translation notes.

Notes -

I've heard that this site does not work well on Macs and you should use either Chrome or maybe Safari / Firefox when browsing on a PC.

You can create a free QQ account to make & save play lists. Recommended if you plan on using it frequently.

There is also a mobile app and I haven't used it but apparently you can even download all your playlist songs & use the phone for music offline. If anyone does this please let me know how it is in the comments below.

For now the best is "虾米音乐网" I guess in China.

Better ui design, higher quality, more music, this is a professional web site of music, and it focus on music only.

The app is only available in iTunes China and not in the US store.

The QQ MVs come in flawlessly.  Its like have a streaming music video radio channel.  So I think the only problem I have is listening to listed items in CDs that are in MS Media 11 format ( and I already had this problem ie. my PC already has been incompatible with MS Media 11 since it came out ).

This only happens when I try to listen to a song, otherwise a navigate with no problem!!  I can at least learn of an existing or new song or CD.

I get message " 您使用的是旧版音乐控件,请进行更新。或检查浏览器是否禁用了控件。" but I am using Xp and IE and FLOCK so not really a big surprise.  I will look into this.

Awesome site! Streaming is fast and good quality. Also, the inclusion of that lyrics tab in the player is awesome. Love it, thanks for the share.
