1. <Up>

   Chinese name: 飞屋环游记

   fēi wū huán yóu jì
   a fly house travel around

2. <Tom And Jerry>

   Chinese name: 猫和老鼠

    māo hé lǎo shǔ
    cat and mouse

3. <The Mask>

   Chinese name: 变相怪杰

   biàn xiàng guài jié
I don't know how to translate this, just a kind of freak man who can change his face

4. <Bruce Almighty>

   Chinese name: 冒牌天神

   mào pái tiān shén
   the fake celestial/deity

5. <Resident Evil>

   Chinese name: 生化危机

    shēng huà wēi jī

Many of the Western names for Chinese Movies are equally terrible.  Not only that but the USA, UK and Autralia may have 3 different English names for the same movie and there maybe another English name given to the movie by the movie company in China.  So for example you will see "Election 2" being sold in Chinatown but the same movie as "The Triad Election" being sold in a large US store chain.

In order to grasp more public attention, hardly any films' names are interpretd literally.these commercial films are often entitled with an attractive local name which even has nothing to do with the movie per se.

I also just discovered this website in my search for this movie's title: www.zenmeshuomovies.com. It's for listing the Chinese translations of western movie names.

Hi Anna - after I shared this post, @strongxu on Twitter commented:

actually i think some translations are very good. like "there will be blood" 血色将至 "no country for old men" 老无所依

"there will be blood" 血色将至 - Xuèsè jiāng zhì

and "no country for old men" 老无所依 - Lǎo wú suǒ yī
