This question blends culture with function. Since the Zodiac signs are linked to years, this can be a tactful way to ask about a person's age. Regardless of whether you believe in the Zodiac signs or not, it's a fun and easy way to make conversation and a perfect opportunity to get to know some of the other members here on SMC while practicing your Mandarin skills.


One of the best ways to study Chinese is to use Chinese. The Daily Question is open to all ability levels and gives you a quick and easy way practice your skills. Let’s take a look at today’s question. Post your answer in the comments below.

I'm an Ox.

(*Note: I think it's incorrect to say 我是牛.  If I'm wrong about this please let me know.)
