Does (s)he really does pick up on tones? That way I can use her to practice some speaking when I am studying alone.
This might be one of the silliest things, but I recently upgraded from a 4 (without Siri) to a 5c and now have Siri. I was waiting on a friend yesterday and decided to play around with Siri. I noticed Siri can be programmed to be a Male and then also to speak in a British accent. I thought this only meant Siri would have a British accent, but as I believe it, I think with the British English setting, (s)he is also programmed to understand a British accent. I was speaking with a neutral accent from the US and noticed that Siri didn't quite understand all I was saying. After playing around a little more, I noticed (s)he also speaks Spanish and Chinese, among a few other languages. I decided to use my basic knowledge and say a few phrases in Mandarin. However, I would only understand a few of her responses, which meant that I don't know if she actually understood me.
All in all, I wanted to know if Siri is accurate when speaking Mandarin. Does (s)he really does pick up on tones? That way I can use her to practice some speaking when I am studying alone. I was thinking I would at least say phrases or conversations to her and see if (s)he would be able to transliterate them accurately whether it be through Siri or use the voice tool on a text or notepad.
